Hot Water in Evening but Cold in morning

Hi

I have a question in relation to my new solar pannell system. We have boiling water in the evenings but the water is too cold to shower in the morning. What might the issue be? It is a new system with a insulates tank. I have notices that I can heat a pump going all through the night.

Any advice would be much appriciated.

Your pump should not be pumping except when water temp in the roof panel reaches operating temperature. Your heating system is working as a cooler during the night operations. Either your temp sensor is defective wired improperly or the pump was wired on the wrong control circuit.

What does that statement mean?

First guess is the unit doesn't have a check valve in the system so the hot water from the tank is circulating in reverse trying to heat up the panel at night.

Sorry, this should have read "I have noticed that I can hear a pump going all through the night"

Call your installer tell him the pump runs through the night, it should not. The hot water is being pumped through the panels at night and cooled back down.

What is the brand of the controller. It might have been left on "test" or the Germans call it "hand"

Its obvious the water is being pumped from the tank to panels at night and the panels are doing a great job of removing the water heat into the atmosphere.There is either a faulty valve or the pump is getting the wrong signal from the sensor.
