What you haven't calculated is angle of incidence your numbers are for a panel facing directly toward the sun. Since once you get beyond 45 degrees angle of incidence you are beyond the most usable sun of the day
I would multiply what you came up with for area by 1.5 and you should be close. 2 would be even better.
