  • Solar Water Heating System choosing. Please help!

    Hello dear users
I am interested in buying solar water heating system for my home. Yeah it is interesting and cost efficient.I am going to buy Active open loop solar water heating system which is called SP226 system and will use it for home heating, hot shower and etc..
But I have an issue that needs your attention. I cannot verify whether this system will be able to provide hot water constantly? How can I calculate how many collectors I need to fully suit me?
I would appreciate if you help me to solve this problem.
    Wait for reply.
    Best regards

First, you need to determine how much hot water you consume - Laundry, showers, dishes. Then you need to store on hand, hot, about 2x that amount, so as you use water and it is replaced by cold water, you don't run out too fast.
What is your backup plan for a cloudy day, or guests come over ?

For the vast majority of folks, SHW is no longer the best option. They are far better putting in grid tied PV panels on net metering and using a Heat Pump Hot Water heater.
