    Introduction before questions

Just discovered this interesting forum. I have used solar water heating beginning in Papua New Guinea with a black tank above the shower; progressed to a Solahart system in Australia; now in Costa Rica use 7 large black panels for pool heating plus 3 solar cell panels to power the circulation pump; plus a Chinese made 20 tube solar water heater for the whole house.

I now wish to build a simple, low cost solar water heating system for lower income Costa Rican neighbours. I am working on it, but will have some questions - even after reading numerous websites, and forum posts. Looking forward to exchanging ideas with fellow forum members.

Use a gravity fed batch heater. See builditsolar.com. for lots of ideas.
