Will solar path lights actually hold up in south Louisiana humidity?

I'm in Baton Rouge and finally getting the backyard sorted, mostly low-voltage path lights along a walkway and a few spots on a new patio set up. Everything I read online says solar stake lights are the easy move, no wiring, but I keep hearing about moisture getting into the battery compartment and the units dying in a year or two. Between the humidity and the afternoon storms, I don't want to buy twice. The other unknown is whether a light near a patio chair gets enough sun with the house shading part of the yard after about 3pm. Anyone in a similar climate running basic solar path lights through a full rainy season? What actually failed first for you, the panel, the battery, or the housing seal, and did you do anything at install time that kept them alive? Mostly trying to decide whether cheap and replaceable beats spending more per fixture.

solar path lights last about a year usually due to the panels getting too much heat. at least that is what happened in Brooksville Florida
