I'll take a good look at the manual before I add this extra panel then, although from what you have explained it sounds as though it'll be a no go for me.
I wonder if there is a CC or other device I could use that would limit the incoming charge to a max of 8.5amps at all times and dump any excess? Although my knowledge is pretty limited it does seem a feasible concept to dump any excess to a sink or something.
For my usage it would be perfect to have a more steady rate of 8 or so amps coming in and save me having to get a new set of batts and CC.
