Help with Micro Inverter to Outlet

I’ve now got this one panel and one inverter. To test things out, can I directly plug this into wall outlet.

my real concern is I am seeing 240v on the micro inverter but I assume home outlets are 110v. So would this cause an issue?

Yes, it will cause a big issue. You need to have the microinverrer on a separate circuit. You will also need a building permit.

PLEASE PLEASE do not attempt to activate an inverter onto a grid connected circuit unless you are fully aware of what your are doing. It is not worth the risk even for testing purposes.

If you have measured 240Vac on the output of the inverter - without having plugged it into a 240V outlet, I'd say it's not safe to use.

Actually, solar is a GREAT learning exercise that I very much encourage. But I recommend starting out with off-grid system that uses the panel to charge batteries, and then uses a 12V-120V or 24V-120V inverter (depending on how you hook up the batteries) to convert to 120VAC that can be used for various things. For me, it started with doing a small 100W panel to a single 12V car battery in order to run a wifi camera in an area that I did not have power. Then it moved on to doing a setup where I had 3x 60 cell (250W each) panels on my pool house run to 6 car batteries and an inverter that allowed me to run my pool pumps and other devices all summer totally off grid. It was really fun.

So I would not discourage playing with this stuff and learning. I just stay far away from anything grid tied unless I have a professional who can review everything. The liability you are exposed to if something goes wrong is just too great.
