battery serial connection...

I have to install my 48V battery bank in a confined space. I could install them in a straight row with short jumpers, but I would prefer them to sit on two shelfs, above each other, like outlined in the pic. Is there a issue with the different cable lengt on each side and with a longer run between the batteries? The will feed a 3600W inverter. Thanks fir your time and answers! Chris.

In a single string battery bank it shouldn't make any difference if the interconnects are different lengths. It IS important to use quality cables and ensure all points of connection are solidly made.

More importantly, with them stacked, will you be able to check and fill the water ?

In a series string, cable length is not critical, as long as the ampacity is correct for the total length and you don't have so much resistance that you starve the inverter
