The AC microinverter trunk cable will transition to THHN wire in a junction box on the roof. Is this considered a wet location? Most wire nuts are not rated for wet locations. What do people use to join wires in this connection box? Thank you for your help.

I used these. They are called AlumiConn and are designed for Aluminum to Copper. What I liked about them is that I could open the cover and check voltage at the junction box. They have a conductive gel inside. alumiconn-wire-connectors-wire-terminals-95025-64_1000.jpg9 kW solar, 42kWh LFP storage. EV owner since 2012 -
Well my inspector will not let you use those connectors for a outdoor junction box. its consider wet location since its outside. Those are only rated indoor connectors. odds are your inspect won't go on the roof tho to check....Comment

I have not used them, but did find that Ideal has some wet rated wire nuts.

It's not conductive (or at least not very conductive)
But it's not for waterproofing.
It's to prevent oxidation.
Alumiconn connectors are for aluminum to copper wiring connections - targeted mainly at people with Aluminum branch circuit wiring in their home.
The "dielectric silicone inhibitor" keeps oxygen away from the aluminum wires, preventing oxidation.
I don't think I'd use them in a wet location - they aren't intended for that.
