I'm going to put up a 70kw DC array with 200 350w panels. I'm limited on net metering to 60.8kw AC. (can build larger, but anything over 60.8 is paid out at avoided fuel cost).
If I use 8 7.6kw inverters, I can wire 2 strings directly into the inverter itself and avoid any dc combiner boxes.
If I use 5 11.4kw inverters I can save $1500 on inverter cost, but give up a fair amount of that on combiner boxes.
In my mind, I'm thinking avoiding the combiner boxes would be the easiest route. Is my logic flawed?
