Russ duty is a yes and a no. You can import anything into Aus duty free if it has a value of less than $1000 AU/US.. Based on this you could bring 3 panels each worth $300 in in one go,, Freight from other countries to Aus I have no idea the cost.
How do you get warranty on imported products(solar panels)??? AS the cost of freight by air out of Aus is expensive. anywhere betwen $8 to $20 per kg(a bit over 2 lbs) that make it expensive to return them to the manufacturer

The problem in Australia is the duty plus the cost of shipping of small lots is prohibitive.

John or DV Henry can correct me if that is not correct.

It would be a little bit tricky if someone set the price below 1000US in the invoice.
I dunno if the 1000US is comprised the freight cost.

the $1000 limit duty free has to include freight into australia.. The $1000 iS TOTAL price including everything.
that is why i gave example 3 items at $300 each. but cant say if you would get them freighted to Aus for that

I have received a reply from apollo energy,

Thanks for your enquiry regarding Solarfun SF160-24-M panels.

It looks as though the brochure that is linked to the Apollo page is out of date. The correct data sheet is attached to this e-mail. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact me at this e-mail address or by calling 1300 855 484.

                Kind regards,

                Bruce Shepherdley

The new data sheet attached to the email does clearly show SF160-24-M covering a range of wattages, including 195W

                Available Wattages: 160 - 165 - 170 - 175 - 180 - 185 - 190 - 195 W
I guess then the actual part number is a little longer than SF160-24-M.

Any thoughts about this one http://cgi.ebay.com.au/PV-panel-190W...item230e61e9ca

Yep, I know, pay top dollar for a brand name weather you can afford it or not.. For this to be viable It needs to pay for its self in an acceptable time, the big brand name panels are out of the question....

and probably no change with this post, but hey, that happens!!!

That doesn't sound too bad but I know nothing about who makes it and it is not on the list of California approved modules which only counts if you live in California or a state that follows their rating system.
