Is polycrystalline better than monocrystalline ?

I know this topic has been discussed widely but, I want to be more specific here.

I live in a area where weather usually remains hot and sun remains up almost all the day. In summer season Sun raises at around 5:30 and sets around 7:30 and days remain too hot.

A vendor at my local area, suggested me that I should go with Poly panels as we have a hot weather and rarely cloudy, and poly panels work more better in Sun Shine than Mono panels.

Is it correct ? Please guide, Thanks in advance.

If you do not have a space issue, and have plenty of space, just add another cheap panel. Poly is only worth the extra cost if you have no more space and need a little bit more power. Or if you have $ to freely spend. It's not a whole lot better, just a couple %.

"Better" is a vague term. Poly panels are better value, Mono panels are better efficiency. Same durability. Mono panels usually do have a better appearance (if they don't have those horrid white spots between the cell corners).

Thanks. I have some clear picture in my mind about these panels now. Many thanks for the responses.

Mono generally has better high temperature performance and efficiency
