Solar energy to power my security camera

Hello folks
First post on this forum.

I have installed a security camera for my home to monitor the outdoors.
Currently its plugged to my exterior power outlet but I dont like the setup since I have to run wires from the side wall of my house.
I want to mount the camera in of our patio columns and keep it "hidden".

But there are no outlets near the patio.

I was wondering if I could have a small size solar panel on the roof and run wires to a power inverter or power storage system (sorry I dont know the right terminology). Then I can source the required power from that unit to my security camera.

What units do I need to buy and how much will be run?

It runs on a DC adapter.

Arlo is too expensive and the battery life is quite weak based on reviews.

Are you kidding me? If Arlo is too expensive, then you think a roof top solar battery system to run your camera 24/7 will be cheaper?

Couldn't find the power requirements of you camera at the link so can't make any recommendations.

But as silver stated - I think you'll find Arlo is cheap compared to a solar/battery system required for this. Plus most likely It'll be an eyesore that will stick out.

i just put my camera in the window and run the power thru a 12 volt to 9 volt converter and a little 20 amp hr battery, i just have to give a it a charge once a week with a small battery charger
