vins, if you look for x-series with microinverter then those salemen can put you in corner. Try with the watts system and production guarantee. For example: 6.4KW/DC with production 9600KWH/year. Let them know you are not picky, but you are focus on cost and production. I had more than 14 quotes from 14 different compnanies, some companies give me 2 or more quotes based on solar panel types and inverter types. Some companies gave me $4.25 - 5/W which I had to say 'No Thanks'. Cut all the noise about those saleman say how good of their company, do google search on solar review, BBB, yelp ... you can find a lot of good companies in the Bay Area. I had couple sale call, my first question to them what is the average price per watt installed. A lot of them could not provide you that answer, then tell them get the number before call you again.
