To the OP I'm probably posting this a little late but here's my info. My annual usage was 16.2MW. I went with a system that would generate about 80% of our total usage. System size was (34) 260w panels for a total of 8.84 KW DC, 7.6 KW AC. Just passed 3 years and have generated about 79% ( last year a lot of cloudy days). Don't plan on buying a Tesla anytime soon so additional production is probably not on my short list , yet.... Good luck.

Yes I think the string is easier to change out ad for the reasons JPM pointed out. But all this talk of shading makes one wonder what is considered shading. Another post had mentioned an inverter that can take multiple shade points (something new). I am leaning toward string but want to be sure I am not making a mistake.Comment
