Solar Options in South New Jersey, seeking opinions

    All,

My wife and I are ready to make the jump into Solar, and have been soliciting quotes from various local installers. I would like to seek some outside opinions on the various options that have been proposed to us:

    1. Company #1 (Small installer): 6.9 kW
    Panels: 23 x LG300N1K-G4
    Inverter: Solar Edge 6000AUS
    Solar Edge Power Optimizers P300
    25 year installation warranty
    Estimated production 9300 kWh/yr
    $22,770 or $3.30 / Watt

    2. Company #2a (Medium sized installer): 6.72 kW
    Panels: 24 x Suniva - OPT280-60-4-1B0
    Inverter: Solar Edge
    10 year warranty
    Estimated production 8,300 kWh/yr
    $23,808 or $3.54 / Watt

    3. Company #2b (Medium sized installer): 6.72 kW
    Panels: 24 x Suniva - OPT280-60-4-1B0
    MicroInverters: Enphase M215
    10 year warranty
    Estimated production 8,600 kWh/yr
    $24,417 or $3.63 / Watt

    4. Company #3 (Huge installer): 5.25 kW
    Panels: 21 x Something 250 w
    Estimated production 7,000 kWh/yr
20 year all inclusive warranty with production warranty
    $25,200 or $4.80 / Watt.

    5. Shady individual installer: 6.84 kW
    Panels: 24 x SolarWorld 285 mono
    Inverter: Solar Edge
    Solar Edge Power Optimizers
    Estimated production 9000 kWh/yr
    $18,249 or $2.67 / Watt

Now, I included that last quote for completeness's sake, though doing a little background research on the individual and company leads me to feel uncomfortable going with them. What I'm really interested in is the the first proposal, above. Does that seems like a good solution? I like that the company actually came out and surveyed my roof with no cost or obligation to me. However, they are a very small company and I doubt that the warranty will be worth much. Is $3.30-$3.50 / Watt competitive with what other people have been getting in New Jersey?

We will be getting a new roof as part of this project, so it's very important that we make choices that won't be regretted later.

    Thanks guys!

I would think anything between $3.00-$3.40/watt would be good. I have seen some quotes in NJ on this forum as low as $3.05/watt. I would also ask what racking do they use. I'm in central NJ and in the process of getting quotes right now. Will post results in next week or so.
