Question about connecting solar panels to existing fuse box

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to connect some solar panels to an inverter directly to a fuse box without using batteries. So as to supplement the energy I use from the electric company. Sort of like how it is connected and sometimes the meter actually moves backwards if you use less energy from the electric company and the solar panels are producing more than you use?

Can you use both at the same time? Grid ties system I think they call it?

Yes, it is called a grid tie installation. There are inverters designed specifically for this application, less expensive than those which support batteries. Generally, you'll need approval from your power company, and probably a building permit, for the install to be legal.

yes, you can, but not just any inverter and you need inspections and POCO permission, Read about, "Grid interactive systems" Hybrid solar" can be done with micro inverters, string inverters as well as central inverter and some models can add batteries for back up power. You can not do this with a "Harbour Freight" inverter.
