Huh? SEDG is clearly reporting better financials, but cash flow was positive for Enphase last year and revenue this year has continued to climb. They are flirting with profitability, depending on the accounting used. Accurately projecting from their current financials whether the company will around in 10 or 20 years looks impossible to me.

I can't put lipstick on a pig even if I wanted to, because numbers don't lie. From their own quarterly report (your link), they managed to borrow nearly $20M in 6-month and still ended with $6M less in the bank. I don't know how you can call it cash flow positive (see attachment).

Maybe you know the company better than most people on Wall Street. But I would stay away, unless it's a speculative play on a possible short squeeze if and when some positive news comes along.

Was told by someone just now that Enphase has been up the market for 4 years... if this is true and they're doing well, why are they trying to sell the company?

I think your "someone" meant "On the market", as in, publicly traded. Their first trading day was Mar 30, 2012.

They were cash flow positive in 2014, heavily carried by their Q3 and Q4 results. Leaping to the conclusion that Q1 and Q2 losses mean 2015 will be in the red makes no sense, given their history (Q1 and Q2 were losses in 2014 as well). Maybe it will be red, maybe black, but looking at just the last quarter or trailing period is not very reliable. Analyst estimates for earnings are generally bullish and have been reasonably accurate, while buy+hold ratings outnumber sell ratings 11-2, a ratio that has increased over the last 3 mo.

This is not the investment forum It is up to each people to make decision and to take risk. Each Solar companies can rose and gone anytime. The key is if the company is gone, what to you do? Some people will stock those company equipment for spare parts, some will take the hit ... Noone can tell for 20 more years.
Only big companies like Google, Disney, Amazon ... can stay for the next 20-30 years ...
