Axitec - anyone have these or input?

My preferred installer has a great deal on Axitec ... but there is very little info about them here.

Anyone use them, or do I bite the bullet and just go with LG and avoid the uncertainty? It may be a $2k "insurance" policy to go with LG over Axitec.

They are CSI (California Solar Initiative) approved for rebates, so at least they took the trouble to qualify for that.
Beyond that I know nothing about them.

Just looking for updates on the Axitec.

I was trying to find out where they are made, but no luck. I am guessing China , does anyone have more info ?

It also appears that they have a 12 year warranty compared to the standard 10 years (except Sunpower - 25).

Also https://www.energysage.com/supplier/20412/axitec/ which shows them to be a German company, but no conclusive indication of where their panels are actually made. My guess would be assembles in Germany using Chinese cells.

The ones over here in UK parts are made in China and assembled in Taiwan. German company with high quality control and very good quality product .

confusing warranties .

Perhaps because some of them see no benefit in making such information readily available.

Besides, in the bigger scheme of things, it seems that a companies reputation to stand behind their product is at least as important as the country of origin.

Further, "country of manufacture" may need some clarification. If cells made in mainland China start out as silicon that started out in, say, Africa, and then assembled in Taiwan (to, BTW, duck U.S. tariffs on Chinese panel dumping) around a frame extruded in the U.S. using Canadian mined and smelted aluminum, and then marketed and sold by a publicly owned and world wide traded American hdqr'd company, what's the country of manufacture, or origin ?

To the second question: Solar panels are beyond the point of becoming commodities. While there may be some differences in mfg. processes and Q.C., once a certain level of quantity, volume and reputation is attained, I'd suspect most differences between products is more in the mind of marketers, and useful for little more than sales fodder. As in: What's a better grocery hauler - a Ford or a Chevy ? Or a Rolls Royce ? Pay your money. take your choice.
