    still learning

    Hi BJ here again just trying to get an idea of what it is going to take.
    I was trying to find the reserve capacity of my batteries but it is not
    where I can find it. I have two 12v everstart maxx bats. 900amp/770cca.

    My new freezer is listed at 230kwh/year.
    we probably use the tv 2 to 4 hours/ day.
    my fridge would be on propane so very little to fire the burner. It is also
    new or about a year old. lights would be minimal as we use oil lamps and
    candles alot.
    some days I know we would use the ac which is a portable 9000btu.

    if someone could give me an idea what would be the best for the least I
    would be much appreciative. thanks in advance. bj

    Find out for your self.








    hehe, get a killawatt. I grudgingly bought one and love it.
    It tells you how many watts, amps, voltamps, dollars, etc. you are using.
    It's turned out to be more handy than I thought. Nice to know exactly how much you are using.
    Find out for yourself how much you are using and you will get better answers about what you need.

      Starter batteries make short lived deep cycle batteries. They will fail quickly, that's why they are never listed at a 20 hour discharge capacity.

        Look around on the board here for the last couple of days, I've made some estimates of what size batteries for some loads, would be.

        Forget the freezer, run it off the generator.

        You can make a battery bank, charge it with the generator, and run your TV and computer off it. To charge via Solar PV, would be a couple thousand dollars.
