Also, some daylight helps visibility. Being able to see what you're doing can come in handy sometimes. Daylight is usually in short supply at midnight.

Not to worry as it's not the electricity that'll kill you or even the first step off the roof in the middle of the night, it's the impact with the ground below unless someone finds you before sunrise. But not to worry, those you leave behind will appreciate the clean panels.

Maybe that is why they now sell those really bright lights that attach to a hat.

I have 3 outlets on my array supporting 120VAC 15A. I could just plug in a couple of those halogen
lights on a pole. That is if I ever did wash them. Here in the Wild West we have frequent rain.

Never mind how good the insulation is on the system. My primary concern, is while being out
there pushing on poles, etc, one bad slip on the moisture could end with my arm through a
panel; no more insulation. Bruce Roe

On cleaning and safety:

Since safety is a big, and ever present design consideration, and one or two other design consideration (of many) are maintenance requirements (including panel cleaning as necessary), and how to provide access for those maint. requirements in a safe way, seems to my prick engineer way of looking at it, the ability to clean panels in a safe way would be a design requirement.
