Earthing system design - Calculation for finding earth wire size and earth rode size

    Dear all,

I designed a 10Kw,5Kw,3Kw system. But i face some problems with earth system design. ie, is the earthing cables size are same for all solar systems irrespective of theire system size? or is there any relation between size of the system and earthing system? and i also looking for calculation needs for the cable sizing?

Generally, local codes define the required equipment for the earthing electrode.

Note there can sometimes be 2 systems,
one) Franklin Rod type to protect the mounting and structure from Lightning Strike
second) is the Safety system designed to prevent electric shock to a person operating appliances

In general the grounding electrode conductor which will bond all metallic parts shall be a minimum of # 8 wire
It is prudent and if exposed to use # 6 if bare rite is used.

The very first thing any apprentice learns on day 1 of his first job isrive two ground rods 6 feet apart. bond them with #6 AWG, collect a check, and call it a day.
