    New 10.36 kW SolarWorld (280W) system in Seaford NY

    Thanks to many knowledgeable forum members and their suggestions, I went to contract in early February 2015 for a 10.36kW system consisting of 37 SolarWorld 280W panels installed by ABest Energy (aka Grid City Energy).

    Due to delays caused by the harsh winter in Long Island, installation finally began last Tuesday (7/14) and it was completed yesterday (7/23).

    The first day (really a half day because the system went "live" after 12 pm) produced 44.3 kWh of electricity; today my system produced 58.1 kWh. Not too shabby considering that I average about 39 kWh of use per day.

    David and his brother Arie Bar (VP and Pres) & Jonathan (Operations) & Judah (sales) @ ABest Energy were great to deal with. Highly recommended!

    Now instead of paying $270 per month to PSE&G on balanced payment plan for electricity that I'm using, I'm paying around $121 per month in loan repayments through NYSERDA's "On-Bill" loan. The loan is for 12 years @ 3.49% interest. The remaining portion of the contract price will be covered by my federal and state tax credits.

    This means that there's no out of pocket $$ to own my system - IMHO this is sooooo much better than leasing or PPA.

    If you're on the fence about solar, have a decent roof and little to no shading issues, just do it already and don't look back.2015-07-22 18.44.22.jpg2015-07-23 18.26.30.jpg2015-07-23 18.27.31.jpg

    May I ask what that system cost you (gross or in per watt cost)? I am looking at an almost identical size system.

                @Paris

                I didn't oversize, my annual usage is just a bit over 14 kWh and my 10.36 will generate slightly over 12 kWh. Also PSEG will not approve and its rebate will not pay for any system that will generate over 110% of your annual usage.

                  What panel orientations did you end up with. Way back in this thread, it looked like you had some options...

                  Also, have you set yourself up on PVOutput.org yet? If your installer hasn't given you your SolarEdge API yet, they should be able to provide it if you ask.

                    got ya... we used 14k in 13, but with led's/conservation reduced it down to 11700 last year.. also I think last summer was cooler then 13, so the a/c usage was less (14tons of ac)... hoping that the 9350 system will cover my entire bill...

                      I did not go with the additional panels on the north side of the roof because it wasn't worth the extra $$.

                      I have 17 panels facing S, 5 facing W and 15 facing E

                      I have the solaredge monitoring and have access through the web and iphone app. I also just added myself to pvoutput.org.

                      Thanks.
