PV panels as close to gutter?

I have the main roof that shade the first floor roof. So, I want to install the panels as close to the edge. The installer said it is better to stay away from gutter.

I want to max out my production out of 289 drg Azimuth roof. What is the closest I can get to the gutter?

AFAIK the only question is how OK are you with the rain from a heavier rainfall having enough momentum that it overshoots the gutter and falls onto the grass/plants/whatever?
(And how is the installer going to reach the clamps to fasten the panels to the rack - but IMO that's solvable even if it was extending beyond the gutter.)

The roof has 93" to the edge of the gutter and the panels are about 65" so I have 28" to spare.

How does 6" to gutter and 22" to sidings sound?

We do get snow. I don't know if 6" is enough.

Google solarpro pitched roof PV mounting. You'll find an article (diagram 4 and table 1) that shows the minimum required setback distance between the bottom edge of the panels and your gutter. You'll need to know the height of your panels above the roof and the pitch of your roof.

Thank you. That is what I need.

I have 35 deg angle (between 8:12 and 9:12) and the height appears to be 6". I am going to leave 8" from the start of the gutter.
