For some installers, there is a significant price difference, for others, very little. Is there a reason to prefer the x21 (345), other than watts/sqft?

No more than any other reason why some choose S.P.327's over, say, LG 300's. One reason might be lack of information on the consumer's part. Maybe the value of roof real estate is higher in some places. All you wind up with is a smaller footprint and the higher price for Sunpower.

I went with the 327s for the cost savings......the x21s are supposed to lose even less power over time than the e20s. If i recall 0.25% per year vs 0.4%......both are pretty good though

And you pay about 20-25% more than other decent equipment for relatively small - yes even over many years - benefit using any realistic life cycle, LCOE or other economic cost analysis method, for a small and also BTW, mostly unverifiable and therefore potential, not actual, benefit.
