Quoted DC (STC) to AC (CEC) appears low.

Bid includes verbage "10.800 kW DC Power (STC) / 9.596 kW AC Power (CEC)"

    This suggests 89% efficiency.
Do I care... googled and CEC looks like it is for rebates... conversion factor mandated by state?

I'm looking at LG300 with SE11400 and the data sheets suggest much better efficiency.

    Thanks

STC, PTC, and CEC tests characterize the performance of the panel under controlled conditions. You can read the details of each test to see the exact conditions, but a CEC or PTC rating of 88-92% of the STC rating is typical. It is not a "conversion factor" or "efficiency"

You're ignorance is confusing you. Standard ratings are not as useful (if useful at all) as are comparisons of estimates of annual output under identical conditions.

Run PV Watts for estimates that are about 10% conservative. Use the "standard" option for the LG, and "premium" for Sunpower and remember it's all an estimate of long term performance, not a predictor of anything. See one of your other threads for a panel comparison comment I made about output using SAM.

Laymen terms Standard Test Conditions (STC) are laboratory ratings under ideal conditions in which you will never see. PTC and CEC are more realistic conditions under ideal installation practices.
