The form was given to me prefilled with the installer selected. The salesman was pressuring me to sign it asap. I want to understand the implications.
I plan to get PSEG solar loan that pays back with 10 years of SRECs. I want to make sure the installer will not have the right to claim SRECs.
It think I should change the form to have me as the registrant.Comment

Note sure on NJ but in NH there are two paths, I can register my panels with an aggregator that lists my panels under his ISO registration number or I can do extra paperwork and get an ISO registration for my installation and register it directly to myself. If I go with my own ISO registration I can shop my SRECS while if I go with the aggregator, I am committed to having him sell them. Since the values of SREC in NH are low, I choose the easy way. If they jump up in value and the aggregator takes too much of may cut, I can always get ISO registration later.Comment

Thanks for the replies.
I spoke to someone from NJCleanEnergy.com. If I am purchasing the system, I should be the registrant. If I am leasing, then the installer should be.
It looks like this installer tried to pull a fast one on me.Comment

As an installer who's registered numerous systems for owners with NJCEP I can tell you it't not for the faint of heart trying to get a system in New Jersey approved to get SRECs.
http://www.njcleanenergy.com/renewab...stration-forms will give you an idea of the forms you need to fill out to get a system inspected and approved.
Once it's approved simply registering with an SREC Aggregator is easy.

Yes. The owner of the company contacted me and apologized for the mistake. He has gained my confidence by addressing my concerns and I am moving forward with them.
They sent someone on site this morning to get the roof measurements and looked at the electric panel.
They seem to do things fast to accommodate me to apply for this round of PSEG Solar Loan solicitation (ending next week). Big companies like Sungevity cannot move this fast.Comment
