Quick! Is FMC (Flexible Metal Conduit) ok per code to run inside building?

My installer says that's it not, and that EMT is required for use inside the attic and in the wall.

The permit wiring diagram shows:

1" EMT / FMC (9)

(9) METALLIC CONDUIT SHALL BE USED WITHIN BUILDING PER NEC 690.31(E).

Section 690.31(E) seems to say it's ok, it just needs to be hung at least 10" below the decking: http://www.homepower.com/2011-nec-section-69031e

Am I missing something here? All things seem to point to it being ok.

I think you are probably OK. Here is a thread in a different forum discussing the same thing. Read all the way through to the end.

Make sure you follow 348.30 and support it properly.

There are sections on my attic where you can stand up, my installer used hard conduit in those locations to connect the 3 arrays.

Then the roof tapers down to nearly nothing. My installer used this to make the run from where the attic "J box" is to where the conduit exits the starter board. Its just kinda' laid in there, as access is impossible....

The inspector showed zero desire to inspect anything other than whats on the ground level.
