BS - I have never been a fan of the microinverters - I consider them useful only if there is a shade problem.

The early generation problem everyone knows about - it is a dead horse.

Sigh. I was always very clear to be talking about units installed several years ago. You quibbled with me. Now you are agreeing with me. Fun but pointless conversation we're having here

It doesn't take long to realize that russ is a curmudgeon.

Sigh - my aching butt - yesterday you did say they were talking about a few years back production - it was only after the current generation came into service that they have been recommended here. We have not had a lot of complaints and our members do bitch - look at yourself.

Everyone, just watch the financial statements for Enphase.

If warranty reserves are growing faster than sales growth then you have reason to worry. Unfortunately it seems that Enphase has a warranty problem.

This is not rocket science and it does not rotate on hearsay. Just watch the financial statements.

That seems to make sense on the surface of it, and there is likely a lot of merit to such logic, but has that situation been with us long enough to make use of it as a harbinger ? I seem to remember you mentioned this some time ago. Is Enphase any closer to the scrap heap ? I'm just sayin'.

It must be just coincidence, but Enphase 10K financial statements were filed today for the year ending 12/31/2014.

Interesting read on warranty accruals starting on page 52. See here:

What is most interesting is that Enphase made an irrevocable election to change the method of warranty accrual beginning 1/1/2014. Now we have apples and oranges. The past cannot be compared to the future. Doesn't take too many guesses to wonder why they made this change. Of course, maybe it has to do with their change in warranty labor reimbursement? In any case warranty expense (which supplies the accrual) is way down for FY2014.

                  Now the clock starts over.

Thank you. Seems worth keeping an eye on.
