You might want to consider running your TOU projections in the spreadsheet that member InsaneOctane made available in this post, or share your data with him so that he can look at it for you. He, and others in forums like ours, have found that for systems sized close to 100% offset, TOU-D-A actually generates the largest potential credit that could be spent on additional consumption, although TOU-D-T fares well too. -

You probably have sized your system cover almost 100% of usage. Your system will produce about same as my 7.1kW SWW 245.Leave a comment:

So what's been your experience during May Gray & June Gloom in this area? Should I expect to get 60%, 70%, 80% compared to a gloom-less day.Leave a comment:

It took me about a month to get my LED situation figured out.
My wife is REAL picky....
...
At one point, I had the whole house converted with the exception of one 9 bulb chandelier.
When that one chandlier was on, it consumed more power than ALL the rest of the house lights combined!
I have since found bulbs for it , that are acceptable.
And it depends on the house. While classic Cree bulbs ($10, Home Depot,
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cree-40W-...Z2bctr5Z1z0vvr ) were good enough at
our house, somehow their humming was more noticable in our rental unit,
and the ONLY bulbs that satisfied everybody there were the Osram bulbs ($8, Lowe's;
http://www.lowes.com/pd_209402-43921...uctId=50213385 )
And even then we had to replace two dimmers, and still haven't found good chandelier
bulbs. (Well, Phillips makes a pretty good a15 bulb,
but only if you don't want frosted.)
What chandelier bulbs did you pick?Leave a comment:

FWIW, your system size is about 1.25 times mine and your output, as you are reporting it, is pretty consistently about 1.25 times mine - mine being a Sunpower system. My best day so far being 35.50 kWh
More FWIW: today's output at my house in 92026 came in at 31.07 kWh on a 5.232 kW system.
More anecdotal support that one system is pretty much the same as the next, pretty much regardless of up front price or panel mfg.
Perhaps my memory is faulty, but if you go back over your prior posts, I think you'll find I was one of the early voices dissuading you on Sunpower. I believe you came around after some initial healthy skepticism.Leave a comment:

peak 3.JPG
This is how my chart would look, adjusted for TOU-DT. Peak rate is from Noon till' 6pm every weekday, excluding holidays. Weekends are all off peak.
As we get farther into spring, my generation time will move later into the day, past the 6pm cut off.
We'll see how it works out!!Leave a comment:

This is me, on a normal day.... wife cooking dinner, TV on... kids home. Just a few KWH's over production
This is the majority of the month.
This is me on a good day... I'm reading a book, Wife is at Volleyball with the daughter, Son is at Baseball.... House is pretty quiet.

Overproduced a bunch. This is like 5 days a month or so.
The rest of the days about break even.
It will be interesting to see how the TOU-DT fits into this ...Leave a comment:
