Yeah guess a winning combination is to eventually get those new SolarCity/TSLA batteries --- right now it's just so cost prohibitive unless I'm planning for the Big One, Zombie apocalypse, or even Sharknado then in that case you can't put a price on protecting yourself against an invasion of SHARKS!

A good reminder how to not have to wait until 2015 to get your credit for installs that don't quite get done in 2013. Just adjust your W4 (withholding) in 2014. You keep more of your paycheck throughout 2014 and the extra tax liability gets offset with your credit when you file 2014 taxes in 2015. Never give the government interest-free loans if you don't need to.

At this point not that picky between German vs Japansese. More concern that my elec bill is starting to spike cause we're running the heater and holiday lights now. Plus no summer savings program, went from $7 a month (that's w/ the summer rebate) to now over $100! (Argh). So would be really nice to be able to lower my bill. Also wanted to get the purchase in for the tax credit to apply this year, we'll see. It's holiday time so everyone has shopping on the brain and nothing is moving especially the city govt and HOA.

Did you already get the permission to operate from the utility and on the grid? Congrats!!! What output are you seeing?
Roger that. I figured they still got few Bosch 245W panels around. Too bad the HOA will not take the silver frame, glad we don't have the same issue with our HOA... Mine were silver frame. No, my solar has been shut down after inspection. Right now, we are waiting on SCE approval to turn on the system. It usually take 2 to 3 weeks of time. The permit just for the solar system from city. I only turn on the system for testing. As I recall, we turn it on around 9 to 10am and the SMA inverter shows 3.7kWh on a 6.63KW DC Bosch panels. I'm not sure how that translate to real output....
