Okay...okay... I just to say that 2.5m/s is the startup wind speed. The working wind speed is about 3-25m/s. "all small wind turbines are junk and ripoffs"-You are too arbitrary. After all, supplier exists bcoz demands is there.

At 5 m/sec wind speed the boat anchor you are talking about will produce nothing!

There are a lot of stupid people around.

I would say there are a lot of real gullible people that are easily swayed to purchase things that are "green" to make them feel like they are doing something to save the earth.

I'm not saying not to look into renewable technology but be aware of the slick sales person that doesn't care about the earth or you. They just want to make a profit off of others.

Seriously, ElevenChen, there are thousands and thousands of completely useless and/or fraudulent products sold every day, from "healing crystals" to $1,000 speaker cables to "homeopathic" pills and worse. I don't know anything about wind energy, but "caveat emptor" is ancient advice for a reason.
