    Hi All,

I though I would chime in here as I had a blackout (grid down) yesterday. So Im in Australia, I've got a 11kW array Canadian Solar panels and a Fronius Gen 24 8kW Primo Plus inverter with a DC coupled BYD modular battery with 6 x 2.76kW/hr. battery modules or 16.5kW/hrs. I have been without the APP for a few weeks as I shifted the wifi extender in the house and now its out of range of the inverter and up until yesterday I didn't care.

The blackout happened mid morning yesterday during a wild storm, heavy rain very windy very overcast, very cold. So with the Fronius BYD system when the grid goes away you go into a blackout in the house (loose all power) and it seems like a long time but I would estimate power was off for about 30 seconds then the lights and everything else came back on, straight away I was thinking do I need to turn the heater off or am I going to make it through, being I had no monitoring and not knowing how long the blackout would last I opted to turn the heater off and put on a jumper.

So the moral of the story when in a blackout with no APP data best to just run on minimum and that way you will probably be fine maybe not but by using the minimum amount of electricity required will ensure you run as long as you can, cheers
