Would This Panel work?

I need to power a PA speaker. As per the Kill a watt, it draws about 50 watts at a very good sound level. 100 w if I really want it lound, and peaks of 200w at full volume, which I will never use. I intent to use it at a volume that consumes about 70 watts.

I found the following panels locally and I wonder if they would provide the power I need. They are 75 watts, $75 bucks each, and I thought of purchasing 3 of them to get 215watts total.

Not only will you need panels, but a charge controller, batteries, and inverter if it uses 120 VAC.

I would say we would use it for about 5 hours during the day, and another 5 years at night.

This would be used during summer in the Nevada desert.

I was planning on using two 6v 200ah connected in series, for 12 v, and I was advised to use a MPPT controller.

I initially wanted to purchase one 250 watt panel, but then I saw these 75 watt local ones and wondered if they may work.

OK you will need 50 watts x 10 hours = 500 watt hours in Nevada Summer with a minimum 6.7 Sun Hours in April

Panel Wattage = 180 watts (12 volt Battery panel of 18 volts Vmp)
PWM Controller = 10 Amps
Battery Capacity @ 12 volts = 200 AH

Or

Panel Wattage = 125 watts
MPPT Charge Controller = 10 amps
Battery Capacity @ 12 volts = 200 AH

I assume this is a mobile application so use a AGM 12 volt 200 AH battery like a Concord Sun Extender PVX-2120L.

1 x MPPT charge controller 10 amp
1 x I already have an inverter, 410 watts
2 x 6v deep cycle battery, 200 AH each. Probably golf cart ones. the one you mentioned is a bit out of my budget, unfortunately.

Answer: Either, neither, or both. It does not matter. If you produce 10 amps from panels and the speaker takes 8 amp, leaving two amps for the battery, it does not make sense to ask whether the 8 amps are going into the battery and back out again or "bypassing" the battery. As long as the CC, the inverter, and the battery bank are connected together in one place, only the net current will flow into or out of the battery.
The State of Charge (SOC) of the battery will only change as a result of the net (difference) current.

10 amp MPPT CC is not going to work with a 240 watt panel. You will need at least 20 amps. Using a 10 amp MPPT Controller will turn your 240 watt panel into a 120 watt panel.

I've seen some photos from burning man and other desert "trailer rigs" where they had 2-3 similar modules (perhaps 240-255W). Definitely go 2+ modules.

This one is called the Solar Saucer they have 6 panels, but they have a 3000w sound system and they can play for 14 hours after dark. Pretty cool.
