    Blowing Fuses

    Hello all,

I know its been hot all over and here in Tampa is no exception. Twice this summer I have blown a ECNR40 amp time delay buss fuse in my disconnect box. There are two, one for each leg. My solar is line-tap connected so no fuses in the panel. I feel the disconnect box and it feels very warm at peak of the day as well as my SolarEdge HD1000. I have 11.3Kw in panels connected. Any similar experience of thoughts?

My original solar arrangement would warm up every sunny day.
Nothing was at its rated limit, but there were several problems.
All that heat is wasted energy you cannot use. The heating and
cooling every day is more likely to eventually loosen connections
which could then overheat and fail. Here the additional voltage
added to the line and could trip out inverter monitors.

I solved these problems with more conservative wiring, read about
that 2020 work on my thread Building Reserve and Using KWH

only another forum I was told my 40a bussman fuse on each leg it undersized. I have 6 awg wires. I did try sandpaper on the contacts but there was no corrosion. They suggested I go to a 50a fuse. The 10k inverter spec says 42a max AC output. Is going to a 50a fuse sound advice?
