Type of Solar Panel and batteries

Hi, Good evening!

1. I am from malaysia, i would like to know, which type of solar panel (Poly,mono or thin film) is suitable for malaysia hot weather ? and which can last long?

2. Why most of the golf cart using 8volt or 6volt batteries ? if i choose to use 4nos of 12V battery to put in series to get 48V, it is possible ? since it is common to find solar charge controller work under 48V!!

I hope someone can guide me on these!

One of the guys that knows best should be along before too long.

Thin film panels have the least track record - more problems with them too date plus requiring twice as much space (roughly).
