NOTE: Moved from "installation" forum because it fits better here:
So I've got an Envoy-S Metered all wired in now with 28 S280s. I'm adding another string of 8 panels, but you can't get the S280s anymore, so I have to get the newer IQ6 inverters. Unfortunately the IQ series is not compatible with the Envoy-S, and the Envoy-IQ is not compatible with the old S280s. So I'm going to end up with TWO Envoys on my system. So I've got two questions:
1. Does Enlighten do a good job at unifying a single system with two envoys, or will my system forever seem like two separate systems?
2. How should I wire the CTs? I'm pretty sure I should wire all the production from the new string of IQ inverters through the CT for the old Envoy-S (along with all the other S280 strings). If I didn't do it that way, the consumption monitoring would get screwed up (consumption CTs are currently wired to the line side of the main panel and to the Envoy-S, so they measure consumption minus production). If so, the new Envoy-IQ won't actually be wired to anything (other than power). Is that correct?
