  • Any Smart Meter reader - Rainforest like device - that can feed the Solaredge portal?

I am aware of the Modbus option but my inverter is mounted about 20' away from the main panel so it would be a real pain to run the CT wires that long. Curious to know if there is any other option for my situation.

Only Wattnode meters, as far I know. You could run the RS-232 into a TCP/IP converter, then a wireless bridge... and the same thing on the other end in reverse, but for 20 ft, I'd just mount the Wattnode meter close to where the CT's are located, and run longer communication wires to the inverter. or, as i've suggested before, use pvoutput to do the net consumption stuff, and leave the Solaredge portal out of it as much as possible.

I really want to install the Wattnode but my panel space is very limited - difficulty installing the CT clamps. Attached is a picture of my panel. Any suggestions?

It would be nice to see consumption directly on my Solaredge app instead of going through PVoutput.

I see the edge of your meter on the left so I'm guessing the feeds are coming from the left but I can't see them. Are they under all the branch circuit wires?

The CT clamps are not that big so if there is space behind the branch wires, you may be able to fit them there.

a Rogowski coil should get around those bars pretty easily.

Think about this further, should I run A or B:
            A) CTs <20 ft cable> Watt Node - Inverter
            B) CTs - Watt Node <20 ft cable> Inverter

Go with B. Putting extensions on CT's can affect their accuracy.

I agree, go with B. You could just use an Ethernet cable to go from the Watt Node to the inverter. I'm attaching some documentation that tells you what gauge wires you can use.

Thank you so much!!! I was planning to do exactly that. Ethernet cable from Wattnode to inverter. Hope that will workout.
