SunnyBoy Glitch? Can't Log In to Inverter Interface

When I try to log into the Sunnyboy interface, I get the following message:

Another login is not possible. The maximum number of users is already logged in on this inverter.
    1. Please wait until one of the users has logged out and try again later.

What the heck is that???? There is no option that I can find to fix this or get past it...

Haven't tried rebooting my local area network yet....

Rebooting my local area network didn't work.
    Clearing cookies didn't work.

I haven't seen such problem with mine but I've seen bunch of other login problems.

I'd try to reboot the inverter by turning AC off and then its DC disconnect off. That should kill all sessions.

Inverter can also be accessed using desktop client called 'Sunny Explorer'. This is somewhat more secure as this client cannot be used for anything else and as a result 'pick up' something during Internet browsing for example. It can only do 1 thing- talk to SMA inverters.

SMA ships inverters with default installer password which needs to be reset to something custom within 10 days (from my memory) of operation. If it is not set it 'locks' itself down- default password stops working. To get myself out of this corner I had to contact SMA tech support and get Personal Unlock Key which pretty much serves as another Installer password for each individual inverter.

I also found hard way SMA SB inverters only store passwords with DC present and its DC disconnect in ON position. It stores other settings but not passwords, that's what actually got me: UI looks like it stores password, no errors but subsequent login with new password doesn't work. Turning DC disconnect to ON cured this problem right away. I have 2 SunnyBoy 3.8-US in my system and both acted the same.

I disabled WiFi access to my inverters the first thing after I logged in there: default settings make it too 'open' to my liking. Besides I can always bring laptop physically there.

However you solve this problem I'd set new User and Installer passwords immediately after regaining control over inverter preferably using SB desktop client. I recommend contacting SMA tech support if simple reboot won't cure it, they're responsive and helpful.
