    Service issues with M190 inverters

    Hi,

I had a solar system installed in 2012. I lost 3 M190 inverters a few months ago. Unfortunately, my installer has gone out of business and there is no installer certified with enphase in the area (120 miles). I tried to process an RMA directly with Enphase for 3 months. In the end, I gave up and purchased units off of Ebay. I installed the new units without issue.

More recently, two more M190 units have failed. I tried to process an RMA with enphase, again with no luck. I would go and buy more M190 units off of ebay, but I have read a number of places on the internet that the M190 inverters are prone to failure. I feel like I would be investing more money in a poor product.

My question is whether or not i can replace the broken M190 inverters with another model/manufacturer or do I have to stick with the same model? Does anyone know if there are serial number ranges that were better than others in the M190 series or are they all bad?

If It is a fork Lift replacement, is there a recommended company that is less bad at support than enphase?

    Thanks!

    Mike

You can replace the M190 with the M215 or M250. They seem to have gotten it figured it with those, the M190 is the last model that seems to be so failure prone.

Go with the M250...mine are doing great...no problems...decent production. You can purchase new units and register them with Enphase. Used M190 is a good bargain if they are cheap enough, but go with the M215 or M250.
