Zero feed into grid with Enphase?

The Envoy-S measures the production watts and consumption watts using C/T''s and it controls the micro-inverters via power-line communications.

And I still have no idea if zero feedback to the grid is possible with the M250.
I'm really at a loss what Enphase wants with Europe. Apparently they don't want much with Europe.
Well, I'll cook with butane gas bottles for the time being, and that 1.2 kW swimming pool pump will be powered for the time being by whatever Spain's Endesa burns, atom-splits, donkey-runs, ...

I'm happy too if the Envoy can just shut them down one by one.

Sorry, I am not from EU and finding "Enphase + Envoy-S + Micro-Inverter + 50HZ" is so very limited.
Matrix - Yes, all 60Hz, BUT the matrix shows that the Envoy-S is compatible with the following inverters:
a) M215
b) M250
c) S230
d) S280
And the Envoy-S has a 50HZ version
And the S230 Inverter comes in a 50hz model.

Just trying to find any 50Hz Enphase stuff is so difficult.
I think the EU distributors don't want website sales, you must work with them.
I am trying to find out if the Envoy-S:
a) shutdowns one entire inverter sequentially or
b) gradually scales-back AC outputComment

The M215 has 50hz model
The M250 has 50hz model
Now does the Inverter support Zero Export via the Envoy-S ?
50 HZ UK (EU?) stuff ...
Enphase is a global energy management technology company that provides residential and commercial solar plus storage solutions. We manufacture solutions spanning solar generation, energy storage, and web-based monitoring and control.
This page list the M215, M250 and Envoy-S together,
Implying that they work together.
Not 100% proof that M215 & M250 support "Zero Export" feature.
Maybe the dealer will confirm?Last edited by NEOH; 07-04-2017, 12:59 AM.Comment

Agreed, the Whole House Consumption C/T needs to measure the amps in the Main Power Wire in the Main AC Panel.Last edited by NEOH; 07-04-2017, 12:58 AM.Comment

Thanks for the info NEOH!

I think I'll try contacting Enphase once more to find out if the M250 does what I hope it does, or if there are other options, like them delivering the "Australian" S270 in Europe too.Comment

And: "Note that Enphase free, live-agent tech support is for solar-professionals only.", while I'm just a professional.
I'll see if my intended dealer can get a confirmation that zero feedback is possible with M250.

The Envoy-S metered will allow zero export with the M250. It controls the output by throttling production, not turning panels off. Production throttling logic is embedded in the microinverter... By default, the throttle is at the microinverter's rating 250 W for the M250), but the metered envoy can dynamically change that limit in response to the feedback from the C/T's .
The European version of enphase's site lists a 50 Hz 230 V Envoy-S Metered, along with the M-series microinverters, as you've found.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozxComment

Unfortunately I can't. I understand you can't just take my word for it, but I at least wanted to give the encouraging feedback that you are on the right track. Hopefully you can get through to a dealer that will confirm that for you and have the right equipment for sale.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozxComment

Thanks neoh, sensij and rickj.
i hope this route of M250 with the envoy s-metered providing zero export works out. I am also now trying to find a supplier that can confirm this. No luck with the first one though. (cclcomponents in the uk). Which is listed on the Enphase website as a Global partner in their directory.Comment

Shoot. On further review, it looks like it does in fact have to be S series. I'm sorry for the false hope.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozxComment

I'm just told via Twitter by Enphase that "Hi Rick, for the moment this is not possible." - and I hadn't even mentioned the type of inverter.
Very frustrating. Now I still know nothing. And I'm not even from Barcelona!Last edited by rickj; 07-05-2017, 04:35 PM.Comment
