Direct sunlight will break down the insulation of the wire as well as heat up from the sun. That will certainly reduce the amps it can handle which is why you size the wire for the load, distance, and environment.
The wire to use for most solar pv system has an insulation rating with a "-2" on the end which normally indicates it is ok for PV.Comment

Ok thanks, my system flat lines as to same power, in the heat of the day in Florida same output 10 to 2. Must be the panels getting hot.Comment
