I'm building my own system and am about to order a bunch of P300 optimizers. I'm confused about what type of connectors are on them. I've read conflicting reports, some say the input connectors are MC4 and output connectors are H4. Is this correct? I need to purchase some mating connectors to do my home runs. Does it matter which type I get? If the output connectors are H4, should I get H4 mates for the home runs or are MC4s compatible and just as good? Thanks.

H4 physically mates to MC4. UL doesn't approve of mixing connector brands, but that isn't really important for residential applications. Depending on the specific optimizer model you can specify more exactly, but if you just go with MC4 connectors, you should be fine.CS6P-260P/SE3000 - http://tiny.cc/ed5ozx -
both in and out are listed as MC4 compatible on the spec sheet.
