DC Wiring Losses in String and Microinverter Solar PV Arrays

That may be true, but you are missing the far more significant point.
That is the AC losses. The power leaving the microinverter is 240VAC,
where as the the string output is perhaps 400VDC. If that distance
is large (up to a 1000 ft loop here), a lot more copper is going to be
needed to limit losses at the lower voltage. I would suggest, that the
wiring to tie the complete string system together is simpler as well.
