  • Fire Code Updates and Changes IFC NEC 2017

With the 2017 NEC, there are new requirements for rapid disconnect.
The International Fire Code (IFC) sets standards for spacing and setbacks.

Is there any indication that passage of the rapid disconnect regulations could lead to
relaxation of the roof coverage restrictions, now that panels are no longer inherently electrically hot?
Is this being discussed? Is http://www.solarabcs.org/ still relevant?

I see also some departments are moving away from even cutting ventilation holes in the roof, which was the stated reason for the various ridge setbacks:

Beyond how they impact 1st responders, rapid shutdown and panel placement for roof access and movement are unrelated issues.
