Hello,
I've been dealing with an issue on a system my company installed, and I've hit a dead end. The area that the array was installed in is fairly saturated with solar, so the utility company is requiring that the inverter be put into Absorbing Vars Mode and that the Power Factor be set to 90%. SolarEdge has been very unhelpful with how to go about doing this. They've pointed me towards the Power Control section of the Inverter (this is a SetApp Inverter btw) where all of the settings can be changed, but can't tell me what needs to be changed to what.
So far I've changed the CosPhi value from 1 to -0.9. This resulted in the Reactive Power (VAR) jumping up to a high positive number. The engineer from the utility company believes that the VAR value should be negative, and nobody at SolarEdge can tell me why putting a -0.9 value in at CosPhi results in a positive number. They told me they were going to 'run it up the chain', but I'm not holding my breath.
I'm hoping that someone here has had to do something similar on one of their installs and could point me in the right direction. Thanks
