  • New Construction Solar Inverter Conduit In Wall?

New construction and looking for a clean install. What do you think about putting the inverter conduit in the walls rather than on the exterior?

Fine with me, but you should check your local building code, the boxes it attaches to may need special labels or something.

Ever seen a new home built with wiring on the outside of the walls? I would not want that ugly POS Bubba DIY would build. . There are no code issues with what you want, other than keeping DC and AC wiring separate and identifiable which is easy to do. Use wire rated for Conduit.

Ever seen Bubba's DIY high rise apartment buildings? You have now.

Just don't run the PV type wiring in the conduit (it doesn't have a smoke rating for indoor applications). Transition to THHN in a roof j-box and by all means get the ugly conduit hidden in the walls.
