I'm curious what the outcome was too.... we just moved to South OC as well in a different neighborhood but all Spanish clay tile roofs in my tract. I've seen several arrays on a number of roofs but my roofer gravely warned against it so I'm quite apprehensive about the whole thing. In fact, we just had to pay nearly $2k to repair a bunch of broken tiles from fumigation and the prior owners' exterior paint job

Someone had pointed me to this but I don't know how compatible it would be - it seems this fits a "tongue and groove" style S tile. I'm not sure if the tiles we have are that type but it seems like they overlap and just lay on each other and there's no tongue and groove at least that I can see:

I guess my concerns about drilling holes on the roof and the arrays breaking tiles from weight are somewhat unwarranted but my fear of someone going up there, not being careful (and breaking tiles not knowing how to walk the roof), as well as doing all the wrong things is a very real concern. It would be nice to get a referral for a company that has a good track record with these installs. My buddy not far from me was about to refer me to the company that he used but per their Yelp page, they literally just went out of business in the past month or so :O
