See photo. I'm thinking of a 20 Kw system. Thoughts?

Sure... it's simple... just cut a window into a nearby wall and let all the sunshine in there that you can.... viola!.... solar!Comment

Sure! Let's do the math:
20kW rated power, into 240 volts - that would be 83 amps. That means you would need at least two pennies behind every fuse to carry the required current. Probably also take at least a liter of whiskey to get the inspector drunk enough to approve it. So budget for that.Comment

No, the panel will need an up-grade. But wait !
Check with your power company first, it's likely 10Kw is all you can install.
PS, the fuse box in my old house had 2 fuses, one for overhead, one for outlets.Powerfab top of pole PV mount (2) | Listeroid 6/1 w/st5 gen head | XW6048 inverter/chgr | Iota 48V/15A charger | Morningstar 60A MPPT | 48V, 800A NiFe Battery (in series)| 15, Evergreen 205w "12V" PV array on pole | Midnight ePanel | Grundfos 10 SO5-9 with 3 wire Franklin Electric motor (1/2hp 240V 1ph ) on a timer for 3 hr noontime run - Runs off PV ||

Ya well, to install solar in that mess you would have to totally upgrade it of course, but otherwise the authorities would allow you to use it forever. Safety first!BSEE, R11, NABCEP, Chevy BoltEV, >3000kW installedComment
