am closer to coffs here, but you should have no worries digging into a panel then, if its homemade is easy, if factory made you'll have to work out how to get into the back of it. still am pretty dumbfounded as to why its going to 5v in full sunlight, has to be a semi short circuit somewhere to lower the voltage that much, did this happen all of a sudden or gradually?

Cannot be sure, however I suspect suddenly. The battery is connected to another solar cell system. Initially I thought there would be conflicts, I monitored voltages and charging for a few months and found they were compatible. (all measurements were taken with the other PV svstem removed.)Comment
